Materials:
- two 1 1/2-inch headpins (I’m using 2-inch silver plated headpins in the video because that is all I had at the time)
- two ear wires
- two 16mm round pearl glass beads (alternatively, you could use 8mm Wonder Beads which would make your earrings lighter while still giving your earrings a unique touch with the glowing effect of the Wonder Beads)
- two bead caps
- two small beads, the same color as the findings
- two charms with jump rings attached (optional)
- wire cutters
- round nose pliers
- long nose pliers
Instructions:
- String a 16mm bead, a bead cap, and a small bead on a headpin.
- Form a simple loop at the top and trim the excess wire. Close the loop. Repeat for other earring.
- Open an ear wire loop and attach a beaded headpin. The key to opening loops is that you need to open them sideways in order not to weaken the wire or warp the loop. To close the loop, just move it sideways until the wire end is touching the loop (you can hear a clicking sound when this happens). Repeat for other earring.
- You can leave your earring as is, or you can add a charm. Since I found out that I had more of these golden dove charms from last year, I decided to add them to this project.
- Alternatively, instead of gold findings and large red beads, you can use silver findings with deep blue beads. These beads happen to be 8mm Wonder Beads. The special thing about Wonder Beads is that they “glow.”
