Instructions for a Tile DIY Ring

  1. Break the tile by wrapping your tile in a towel, go outside and put it on the ground and then hit your wrapped up tiile with a hammer until you recieve the desire size.

  2. Cut a piece of copper tape that is big enough to wrap around the edges of your tile.

  3. Wrap the copper tape all around the edge of your tile.

  4. Press down the edges of your copper tape, to make sure it is as tightly bonded to the tile as you can.

  5. Coat your copper tape with flux.

  6. Put on your saftey goggles and glasses to begin sautering on low heat/flame.

  7. Touch the sauter iron to the sauter. Glide the sauter all the way around the top of the tile.

  8. Use your clamps to hold your ring while you sauter the sides.

Definitely a unique piece. If you had a pair of tile nippers, you could easily clean up the edges, if you wanted. Since the soldering gun is already out, add a bail and make a necklace. This would really nice as a pendant, maybe with a bead dangle, and/or some wire wrapping too.

I absolutely love this idea! I think it is super unique and definitely not something I would have thought up on my own.
