Awesome illustrations that go along with the tutorial for this gorgeous bracelet. I have never used the required beads. Are Super Duo beads just a brand name or is there a difference between them and other like beads. How important for this project to come out correctly is it for me to purchase them?

Hi Hippie Chick, that is a great question! SuperDuo is a brand name of an oval-shaped two-hole bead. Another common brand is Preciosa's Twin beads. However, SuperDuo beads are more consistent in shape and size, and also have a small "bump" between the two holes, giving them a slightly diamond shape. It is similar to the difference between generic seed beads and Japanese seed beads like Miyuki or Toho, which are more reliably uniform in size. You could definitely try this pattern with Twin or other oval-shaped two-hole beads, but the length of the finished bracelet could vary and the look of the bracelet could be slightly altered. For this bracelet to turn out just like the picture, I would recommend using SuperDuo brand beads. I hope this is helpful information! This bracelet is really lovely and the pattern actually seems pretty simple, too. I've been using SuperDuos a bit lately and this pattern seems like a great way to use them!

Wow, and I do mean wow! This is a very elegant look. Like another one I just saw, it isn't going to be hard to make , it's just a more time consuming design. No immediate gratification on this project. I am thinking of it in purple and silver. After all purple is the color of royalty and I will feel like a princess wearing it. Thanks for sharing this one. It's in my save box!

This was my first stitched duo bead project. I had so much fun making it, I will be making many more! Thanks AFJ!
