Never really gave it much thought that I could be making my own clasps for my custom jewelry to give it an even more unique look. I got a chuckle out of the statement from the designer to stalk around the house and find something suitable to wind your wire around LOL. Sounds like my kind of pattern. Love that it doesnt rely on specific tools which will give each one a unique look.

I actually really appreciate the toggle clasp! A friend made a bracelet for me with one of these. It's much easier for me to close by myself than other closures. I can see where this one can easily be adapted to all sorts of pieces. I am just starting to learn about jewelry making and this looks like a basic that I will come back to time and time again. I'm adding this to my beginner's notes.

This is such a great idea for those that would like something different then just the plain toggle clasp that you buy. I like that you can blend it in with your jewelry piece or add different beads to give it that pop and if you do not have a clasp handy to finish project you can make one instead of waiting to go buy one. So simple using this tutorial. Great idea. Anyone agree?

I like the idea - especially if it ties into the project - but would prefer using more appealing/attractive beads so that it would look less five- and dime-ish. There are times when it is difficult to find a closure that goes well with a project and this might help - would also help cut costs if a matching one could be made

The Designing Penguin, tell me what you think about this one: http://www.allfreejewelrymaking.com/Jewelry-Techniques/Bar-and-Ring-Toggle. It's a bit more complicated, but the final product is way beyond dollar-store chic! Editor, AllFreeJewelryMaking
